About Jason Smith
My name is Jason Smith and I am the Director of Business Services and Technology for Coal City Schools. In my role as business manager, I am responsible for overseeing all the financial operations of the district as well as construction projects for the district. I strive to use my problem solving and communication skills to increase efficiency of the organization. In the realm of technology, my goal is to provide a stable and transparent environment for staff and students to use that will enhance their experience and support teaching & learning. I also present "iAdministrator", an Administrator's Academy (#1144) that explores the use of technologies from Google Docs to tablets. The goals of the academy are to make administrators more efficient in their role as a school leader. I have been technology training since 1998, and during that time, the focus of my message has been about leveraging the power of technology to support and enhance education: from the classroom to the organization as a whole. During the last year I have trained hundreds of teachers and administrators all over the state in the area of harnessing technology and the internet to improve their skills as a 21st century educator.
