What is the Ed Leaders Network?

The Ed Leaders Network (ELN) is grounded in the belief that educational leaders impact student performance. With this foundational belief at ELN’s core, multiple state principal associations have partnered together to provide you with high quality, on-demand professional development to enhance your educational leadership. A dynamic professional networking community has also been created so you can learn and interact with your peers and leadership experts from across the country. ELN’s mission is to provide educators with the professional development and capacity-building professional network needed to do what’s best for your students and learning community.

Learning Management System

The content on Ed Leaders Network resides within a robust learning management system that allows users to complete courses and keep track of progress. Visit the Learning Library to see all available courses or head to your My Learning page to see courses assigned, in progress, and complete. Below are the two types of user accounts available within the ELN Learning Management System.
Learners can select from more than 200 on-demand courses to enhance their educational expertise. Each course on ELN is aligned to frequently used educational standards (PSEL, Danielson, etc.) and can provide professional development hours toward licensure renewal.
Managers are able to have enhanced features that include Analytics, Authoring, and Admin controls. Analytics allows managers to run and schedule completion reports to be sent to you on a recurring basis. Authoring provides managers with the ability to assign courses and programs and even create their very own on-demand content for their team. The Admin feature allows managers to look at individual transcripts of their staff and create sub-groups for targeting content assignment.

Community

Part of the power of Ed Leaders Network lies in the community features available through ELN Connect. In this virtual platform, all ELN users have the ability to create and respond to threaded discussions, post educational blog content, upload resources to the library, and search the ELN directory for other educators to connect with.

Micro-Credentials

Ed Leaders Network hosts a number of Micro-Credentials for those interested in showcasing their leadership skills. These Micro-Credentials are eligible for continuing education credit in some of the ELN Affiliate states. Below are some of the programs that include the Micro-Credentials as a learning component.
The Ed Leaders Network is proud to partner with Aurora University in Illinois to support their Alternative Principal Endorsement Program. This innovative program allows for aspiring school leaders who hold a current Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) and master’s degree in an area of education to earn their principal endorsement in just one year through a unique combination of internship activities and Micro-Credentials.
In Missouri, 15 Micro-Credentials have been developed to specifically align with the Missouri Leadership Development System (MLDS). The Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE), per its administrator upgrade requirements, allows administrators to substitute these DESE-approved Micro-Credentials for advanced graduate work when moving from their Initial (valid for 4 years) to their Transition certificate and from their Transition (valid for 6 years) to their Career certificate (valid for 99 years).

A Micro-credential is a career-building opportunity. Micro-credentials evidence your career skills and growth in a tangible, highly-visible way. Completing a Micro-Credential could potentially lead to salary advancement or help you stand out in a pool of job candidates. You can also earn professional development credit toward your licensure requirements.
