Guaranteed and Viable Curriculum


OverviewGuaranteed and Viable Curriculum Micro-Credential involves the principal’s ability to demonstrate how they collaborate, facilitate, and provide structures and processes which ensure implementation of a comprehensive, rigorous, and aligned curriculum. In addition, the principal will demonstrate their ability to establish a collaborative, trusting environment and high-quality, rigorous curriculum focused on individual student’s growth and achievement. Finally, the principal will provide a collaboratively developed plan that ensures alignment of assessment, instruction, and curriculum which provides and monitors the delivery of guaranteed viable curriculum that produces continuous student improvement.

Essential OutcomesGuaranteed and Viable Curriculum includes the following three identified essential outcomes:

  1. Provide structures and processes that support and ensure implementation of a curriculum that is comprehensive, rigorous, and aligned.
  2. Create a collaborative, trusting environment and a curriculum focused on success for all students.
  3. Develop a plan that ensures alignment of assessment, instruction, and curriculum which provides and monitors the delivery of guaranteed viable curriculum that produces continuous student improvement.

Requirements

Part 1 – Overview Questions

Develop a responsive narrative that answers the following questions (1,000-word minimum):

  1. What structures and processes have you used to ensure implementation of a curriculum that is comprehensive, rigorous, and aligned throughout all grade levels and in all classrooms?
  2. As educational leader, how have you worked to create a collaborative, trusting environment to ensure implementation of a curriculum focused on success for all students?
  3. What process have you used for developing a plan that ensures alignment of assessment and instruction with the curriculum?

Part 2 – Skill Demonstration Product with Self-Analysis

Develop an artifact portfolio that captures the essential outcomes for the Guaranteed Viable Curriculum Micro-Credential and complete the evidence self-analysis.

For each EO detail you will be required to reference an uploaded artifact(s) and guide the assessor to the specific evidence (page number, video time stamp, etc.) within the uploaded artifact(s). An explanation of how the evidence demonstrates proficiency of the outcome detail is also required. The practitioner must clearly and compellingly demonstrate proficiency of every detail under each essential outcome.

Part 3 – Reflection and Application

Submit, in writing, a summary of your experience of completing the Guaranteed and Viable Curriculum Micro-Credential (500-word minimum). Highlight and provide specific examples of how you applied the three components of Guaranteed and Viable Curriculum. This could include topics covered and changes made to your school’s curriculum as you engaged in the process. Include a reflection about the impact of this skill on your professional practice and how you will continue to apply it in the future.
