Overview – The Personal Communication Skills Micro-Credential requires that the practitioner demonstrates proficiency of all the essential outcomes and the research-based subskills defined in the details. These include demonstrating the practitioner engaging in self-development to enhance communication abilities in conducting self-evaluations of oral (NASSP, 2014, p. 81) and written communication skills, soliciting feedback, reflecting on enhancing and exemplifying communication for school, district staff and stakeholder groups (p. 97). The practitioner further demonstrates engaging in self-development to enhance communication abilities, by reflecting on personal strengths and weaknesses on inspiring others, and by building a common understanding of establishing clear channels of communication while establishing a continuous improvement plan with strategies, implementation timelines, self- evaluation, and monitoring process to ensure effective communication skills and continuous improvement.
Essential Outcomes – Personal Skills includes the following four identified essential outcomes:
Part 1. Overview Questions – Develop a responsive narrative that answers the following questions (1,000-word minimum):
Part 2. Skill Demonstration Product with Self-Analysis
Develop an artifact portfolio that captures the essential outcomes for the Personal Communication Skills Micro-Credential and complete the evidence self-analysis.
For each EO detail you will be required to reference an uploaded artifact(s) and guide the assessor to the specific evidence (page number, video time stamp, etc.) within the uploaded artifact(s). An explanation of how the evidence demonstrates proficiency of the outcome detail is also required. The practitioner must clearly and compellingly demonstrate proficiency of every detail under each essential outcome.
Part 3. Reflection and Application
Submit, in writing, a summary of your experience in Personal Communication Skills (500-word minimum); highlight and provide specific examples of how you applied all four essential components and details of Personal Communication Skills. This could include topics covered such as how you self-reflect and assess your personal communication skills, how you use feedback from your stakeholders to guide personal skill that need improving, and how you develop a plan which ensure continuous improvement of your personal communication skills. Include a reflection about the impact of this skill on your professional practice and how you will continue to apply it in the future.
