Managing Systems Logistics

Overview – The Managing Systems Logistics Micro-Credential requires that the practitioner demonstrates proficiency of all the essential outcomes and the research-based subskills defined in the details. These include the practitioner ability to provide structures and processes that support and ensure the facilitation of efficient and effective oversight of the physical plant operations; collaboratively establish routines, procedures, and schedules for operational staff that aligns and leverages system processes to drive organizational excellence; allocate and manage fiscal and non-fiscal resources to support school and district goals and priorities; monitor and ensure compliance with operational requirements at the federal, state, and local level; and provide a plan with strategies, timelines, evaluation, and monitoring processes to establish efficient use of resources and systems to maintain operations and ensure a safe, operational learning environment The purpose of managing systems logistics is leverage the educational, operational, and financial affairs and resources of the school to effectively balance operational efficiencies and student learning needs (SLP 3.0, 2021).

Essential Outcomes Managing Systems Logistics includes the following six identified essential outcomes:

  1. Provide structures and processes that support and ensure the facilitation of efficient and effective oversight of the physical plant/building operations.
  2. Collaboratively establish routines, procedures, and schedules for operational staff that aligns and leverages system processes to drive organizational excellence.
  3. Allocate and manage fiscal resources to support school and district goals and priorities.
  4. Allocate and manage non-fiscal resources to support school and district goals and priorities.
  5. Monitor and ensure compliance with operational requirements at the federal, state, and local level.
  6. Provide a plan with strategies, implementation timelines, evaluation, and monitoring processes to establish efficient use of fiscal and non-fiscal resources that ensure and maintain a safe learning environment and all operational systems.

Requirements

Part 1. Overview Questions

Develop a responsive narrative that answers the following questions (1,000-word minimum):

  1. What is the current process for reviewing the allocation of both fiscal and non-fiscal capital and capacity within your building?
  2. What impact does the current allocation of resources have on student achievement within your facility/building? How do you know?
  3. What systematic processes are in place to ensure that the budget is reviewed in an on-going manner in order to ensure fiscal resources are allocated to the students who are most in need?
  4. What strategies can be utilized to ensure that there is collaboration among staff and stakeholders to ensure that input is received to best deploy both fiscal and non-fiscal resources?

Part 2. Skill Demonstration Product with Self-Analysis

Develop an artifact portfolio that captures the essential outcomes for the Managing Systems Logistics Micro-Credential and complete the evidence self-analysis.

For each EO detail you will be required to reference an uploaded artifact(s) and guide the assessor to the specific evidence (page number, video time stamp, etc.) within the uploaded artifact(s). An explanation of how the evidence demonstrates proficiency of the outcome detail is also required. The practitioner must clearly and compellingly demonstrate proficiency of every detail under each essential outcome.

Part 3. Reflection & Application

Submit, in writing, a summary of your experience of Managing Systems Logistics (500-word minimum). Provide specific examples of how you applied all components of the essential outcomes. This could include topics covered and description of the processes used to allocate resources, both fiscal and non-fiscal, to improve student achievement. This could also include evidence and reflections on the development or review of current processes which are used in district by educational leaders to allocate resources. Include a reflection about the impact of this skill on your professional practice and how you will continue to apply and review it in the future.
