Allocating and Assigning Personnel

Overview – The Allocating and Assigning Personnel Micro-Credential requires that the practitioner demonstrates proficiency of all the essential outcomes and the research-based subskills defined in the details. These include the practitioner’s ability to ensure appropriate assignment of personnel; ensure effective allocation of personnel; implement evaluation processes, procedures and systems that ensure accountability for teachers and staff members; efficiently maintain personnel records and reports that comply with state rules and regulations and local policy; and provide a plan with strategies, implementation timelines, evaluation, and a monitoring process to establish best practices in personnel management and assignments. The purpose of allocating and assigning personnel is to manage the educational, operational, and financial affairs and resources of the school to effectively balance operational efficiencies and student learning needs (School Leader Paradigm 3.0, 2021).

Essential Outcomes – Allocating and Assigning Personnel includes the following five identified essential outcomes:

  1. Ensure appropriate assignment of personnel.
  2. Ensure effective allocation of personnel.
  3. Implement evaluation processes, procedures and systems that ensure accountability for teachers and staff members.
  4. Efficiently maintain personnel records and reports that comply with state rules and regulations and local policy.
  5. Provide a plan with strategies, implementation timelines, evaluation, and a monitoring process to establish best practices in personnel management and assignments.

Requirements

Part 1. Overview Questions

Develop a responsive narrative that answers the following questions (1,000-word minimum):

  1. What is your current system of professional development for staff within your district? If you could make 2-3 changes to it, what would those be?
  2. In what ways does your district retain, re-recruit, and develop the human capital within the district?
  3. Discuss the processes that exist when there are ineffective staff within the district.
  4. What processes are in place to ensure that the evaluation process for staff is meaningful and providing timely and actionable feedback?5. What processes are in place to ensure that feedback that is provided to staff is followed up on?

Part 2. Skill Demonstration Product with Self-Analysis

Develop an artifact portfolio that captures the essential outcomes for the Allocating and Assigning Personnel Micro-Credential and complete the evidence self-analysis.

For each EO detail you will be required to reference an uploaded artifact(s) and guide the assessor to the specific evidence (page number, video time stamp, etc.) within the uploaded artifact(s). An explanation of how the evidence demonstrates proficiency of the outcome detail is also required. The practitioner must clearly and compellingly demonstrate proficiency of every detail under each essential outcome.

Part 3. Reflection & Application

Submit, in writing, a summary of your experience of Allocating and Assigning Personnel, (500-word minimum). Provide specific examples of how you applied all components of the essential outcomes. This could include topics covered and a description of the process used to promote evidence-based professional development, including protocols for conducting observation and providing actionable and timely feedback. This could also include testimonials from teachers on changes of practice that lead to higher levels of learning for their students as a result of evaluation or feedback. Include a reflection about the impact of this skill on your professional practice and how you will continue to apply it in the future.
