Recruiting High-Quality Staff

Overview – The Recruiting High-Quality Staff Micro-Credential requires the practitioner to demonstrate proficiency of all the essential outcomes and the research-based subskills defined in the details. These include the practitioner’s ability to establish effective local partnerships; identify and recruit high quality staff; utilize a collaborative, research-based process for selecting, interviewing and evaluating candidates; develop and implement a collaborative process to monitor, evaluate, and improve macro conditions that impact staff recruitment; and provide a plan with strategies, implementation timelines, evaluation, and monitoring process to establish best practice in recruiting high quality staff for organizational improvement. The participant’s skill and ability to focus on recruiting, retaining, and ensuring accountability of high-quality staff is essential. Further, their capacity to grow and develop essential skills personally and for all stakeholders to support and provide high-quality, student-focused learning is vital (NASSP, 2018).

Essential Outcomes – Recruiting High-Quality Staff includes the following identified essential outcomes:

  1. Establish effective local partnerships to identify and recruit high quality staff.
  2. Utilize a collaborative, research-based process for selecting, interviewing, and evaluating candidates.
  3. Develop and implement a collaborative process to monitor, evaluate, and improve macro conditions that impact staff recruitment.
  4. Provide a plan with strategies, implementation timelines, evaluation, and monitoring process to establish best practice in recruiting high quality staff for organizational improvement.

Requirements

Part 1. Overview Questions

Develop a responsive narrative that answers the following questions (1,000-word minimum):

  1. What steps have you personally taken to establish effective local partnerships and professional networks to identify and recruit high quality staff and what do you see as logical next steps?
  2. How you have created your process for selecting, interviewing, and evaluating candidates?
  3. How would you describe the process used to monitor, evaluate, and improve conditions that impact staff recruitment at the local, state, and macro levels?
  4. Articulate what you are doing to measure the success of your current recruitment processes and how you create plans for continued success and improvement.

Part 2. Skill Demonstration Product with Self-Analysis

Develop an artifact portfolio that captures the essential outcomes for the Recruiting High-Quality Staff Micro-Credential and complete the evidence self-analysis.

For each EO detail you will be required to reference an uploaded artifact(s) and guide the assessor to the specific evidence (page number, video time stamp, etc.) within the uploaded artifact(s). An explanation of how the evidence demonstrates proficiency of the outcome detail is also required. The practitioner must clearly and compellingly demonstrate proficiency of every detail under each essential outcome.

Part 3. Reflection & Application

Submit, in writing, a summary of your experience of Recruiting High-Quality Staff (500-word minimum). Provide specific examples of how you applied all components of the essential outcomes. This could include topics covered and a description of where you have found your individual strengths and areas for potential improvement as it pertains to the Essential Outcomes listed below:

  1. Establish effective local partnerships and professional networks to identify and recruit high quality staff.
  2. Utilize a collaborative, research-based process for selecting, interviewing and evaluating candidates.
  3. Develop and implement a collaborative process to monitor, evaluate, and improve macro conditions that impact staff recruitment.
  4. Provide a plan with strategies, implementation timelines, evaluation, and monitoring process to establish best practice in recruiting high quality staff for organizational improvement.
