Ensuring Accountability

Overview – The Ensuring Accountability Micro-Credential requires the practitioner to demonstrate proficiency of all the essential outcomes and the research-based subskills defined in the details. These include the practitioner’s ability to collaboratively establish clear organizational performance expectations; facilitate development of specific, measurable professional goals; ensure and articulate accountability for achieving performance goals; create a plan with strategies, implementation timelines, evaluation, and monitoring process to establish best practice in ensuring accountability for organizational improvement. The participant’s skill and ability to focus on recruiting, retaining, and ensuring accountability of high-quality staff is essential. Further, their capacity to grow and develop essential skills personally and for all stakeholders to support and provide high-quality, student-focused learning is vital (NASSP, 2018).

Essential Outcomes – Ensuring Accountability includes the following identified essential outcomes:

  1. Collaboratively establish clear organizational performance expectations.
  2. Facilitate development of specific, measurable professional goals.
  3. Ensure and articulate accountability for achieving performance goals.
  4. Create a plan with strategies, implementation timelines, evaluation, and monitoring process to establish best practice in ensuring accountability for organizational improvement.

Requirements

Part 1. Overview Questions

Develop a responsive narrative that answers the following questions (1,000-word minimum):

  1. What have you learned through facilitating the goal process for those you serve?
  2. What examples can you provide for how you provide both support and accountability to help those you serve reach their performance goals?
  3. Articulate the process used to collaboratively establish clear organizational performance expectations and what those currently are for your school/district.
  4. What is going well in your organization and what your next steps forward are in ensuring accountability?

Part 2. Skill Demonstration Product with Self-Analysis

Develop an artifact portfolio that captures the essential outcomes for the Ensuring Accountability Micro-Credential and complete the evidence self-analysis.

For each EO detail you will be required to reference an uploaded artifact(s) and guide the assessor to the specific evidence (page number, video time stamp, etc.) within the uploaded artifact(s). An explanation of how the evidence demonstrates proficiency of the outcome detail is also required. The practitioner must clearly and compellingly demonstrate proficiency of every detail under each essential outcome.

Part 3. Reflection & Application

Submit, in writing, a summary of your experience of Ensuring Accountability (500-word minimum). Provide specific examples of how you applied all components of the essential outcomes. This could include topics covered and a description of where you have found your individual strengths and areas for potential improvement as it pertains to the Essential Outcomes listed below:

a. Collaboratively establish clear organizational performance expectations.b. Facilitate development of specific, measurable professional goals.c. Ensure and articulate accountability for achieving performance goals.d. Create a plan with strategies, implementation timelines, evaluation, and monitoring process to establish best practice in ensuring accountability for organizational improvement.
