EAHE 503 Building Collaborative Structures and Systems of Professional Practice


Introduction - This Micro-Credential is part of the SIUC M.S.Ed in Educational Administration with Principal Endorsement Program.

Overview - The EAHE 503 Building Collaborative Structures and Systems of Professional Practice Micro-Credential develops educational leaders’ capacity to create and sustain a collaborative, high-performing school culture focused on instructional excellence, shared leadership, and equitable student success. Practitioners demonstrate skills in analyzing school systems to identify barriers and strengths for collaboration; designing embedded structures—dedicated time, protocols, coaching, and interdisciplinary planning—to elevate teaching and professional learning; and using data-driven inquiry, reflection, and feedback to monitor progress and drive continuous improvement.Leaders foster trusting relationships across stakeholders, establish shared instructional expectations, empower distributed decision-making and voice, and strategically allocate time, resources, and personnel to support differentiated professional growth aligned with school priorities. The outcome is a cohesive, results-oriented environment where all members are engaged, accountable for collective growth, and committed to ongoing innovation in teaching, learning, and schoolwide achievement.

Course Objectives - The EAHE 503 Micro-credential includes the following 6 identified course objectives:1. Analyze school culture and organizational systems to identify strengths and barriers to effective collaboration and student achievement2. Design and implement collaborative structures that improve instructional practice3. Use data and continuous inquiry processes to guide school improvement and evaluate impact4. Apply leadership strategies for managing change, including communication, facilitation, and stakeholder engagement.5. Develop a sustained professional learning plan aligned to school goals and principles of adult learning6. Allocate time, resources, and personnel strategically to support equitable student outcomes and collaborative professional practice

Requirements

Part 1. Overview Questions
For Part 1, you will be required to complete the following: Develop a responsive narrative that answers the following questions (1,000-word minimum):
1. What steps have you taken to analyze your school’s culture and systems, identifying strengths and barriers to collaboration and equitable student achievement? 
2. What collaborative structures (e.g., dedicated time, protocols, coaching, interdisciplinary planning) have you designed and implemented to improve instructional practice and professional learning? 
3. How have you used data-driven inquiry cycles to collect, analyze, and apply multiple data sources to guide school improvement and evaluate impact on teaching and learning? 
4. What strategies have you used to lead and sustain change, including communication, facilitation, stakeholder engagement, and building buy-in for improvement initiatives? 
5. How have you developed and implemented a sustained professional learning plan aligned with school goals and adult learning principles to build staff capacity? 
6. How have you strategically allocated time, resources, and personnel to support equitable student outcomes and high-functioning collaborative professional practice?
Part 2. Skill Demonstration Product with Self-Analysis
For Part 2, you will be required to complete the following:
Develop an artifact portfolio that captures the essential outcomes for the EAHE 503 School Community Relations & District Policy Micro-Credential and complete the evidence self-analysis.
For each EO detail you will be required to reference an uploaded artifact(s) and guide the assessor to the specific evidence (page number, video time stamp, etc.) within the uploaded artifact(s).  An explanation of how the evidence demonstrates proficiency of the outcome detail is also required.  The practitioner must clearly and compellingly demonstrate proficiency of every detail under each essential outcome.
Part 3. Reflection and Application
For Part 3, you will be required to complete the following:
Submit, in writing, a summary of your experience in completion of the EAHE 503 MC (500-word minimum); highlight and provide specific examples of how you applied the essential outcome components.  This could include topics covered; challenges or obstacles you addressed in order to provide leadership in school community relations and district policy and any professional development you completed in order to improve personal skills.  Include a reflection about the impact of this skill on your professional practice and how you will continue to apply it in the future.
