Overview - The EAHE 521 Leadership for Equity – Special Populations Micro-Credential requires that the practitioner demonstrate proficiency of all essential outcomes and research-based subskills defined in the details, including the ability to establish and sustain high expectations for all learners through aligned curriculum, instruction, and assessment practices; design and implement data-driven improvement strategies to enhance teaching and student performance; create organizational structures that ensure equitable academic and social-emotional support; and plan and coordinate instructional services for diverse learners, including students with IEPs, Section 504 plans, English learners, and gifted students. This Micro-Credential emphasizes collaboratively constructing and growing equity, embedding a culture of student-centeredness, and implementing rigorous, responsive instructional systems that support individual student growth. The practitioner collaborates with families, staff, and community stakeholders and provides a comprehensive plan—including strategies, implementation timelines, evaluation methods, and monitoring processes—to establish and sustain best practice in equitable leadership and continuous organizational improvement.
Course Objectives - The EAHE 521 Micro-credential includes the following 6 identified course objectives:
1. Analyze school culture and organizational systems to identify strengths and barriers to effective collaboration and student achievement
2. Design and implement collaborative structures that improve instructional practice
3. Use data and continuous inquiry processes to guide school improvement and evaluate impact
4. Apply leadership strategies for managing change, including communication, facilitation, and stakeholder engagement.
5. Develop a sustained professional learning plan aligned to school goals and principles of adult learning.
6. Allocate time, resources, and personnel strategically to support equitable student outcomes and collaborative professional practice.
