Valuing and Celebrating Traditions

Overview – In Valuing and Celebrating Traditions the practitioner will demonstrate the ability to strategically collaborate with stakeholders to ensure inclusive, meaningful recognition and celebration of student achievement; guarantee inclusive, meaningful recognition and celebration of staff achievement; provide meaningful community involvement in the recognition, honoring, and celebrating of student and staff achievements; and provide a collaborative plan with strategies, implementation timelines, evaluation, and progress monitoring to establish, promote, and sustain a culture that values and celebrates traditions and achievements of students, staff, and community. Throughout the process, the practitioner will collect methods for developing meaningful celebrations, strategies for inclusion of all stakeholders, and resources to honor and celebrate student, staff, and community achievements and diversity.

Essential OutcomesValuing and Celebrating Traditions includes the following four identified essential outcomes:

  1. 1. Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure inclusive, meaningful recognition and celebration of student achievement.
  2. Collaborate to ensure inclusive, meaningful recognition and celebration of staff achievement.
  3. Collaborate to ensure meaningful community involvement in the recognition, honoring, and celebrating of student and staff achievements.
  4. Provide a plan with strategies, implementation timelines, evaluation, and monitoring to establish, promote, and sustain a culture that values and celebrates traditions and achievements of all stakeholders.

Requirements

Part 1 – Overview Questions

Develop a responsive narrative that answers the following questions (1,000-word minimum):

  1. What steps did you take to collaboratively identify and implement inclusive, meaningful recognition and celebration of student and staff achievement?
  2. How do you ensure that community involvement in the recognitions, honoring, and celebrating of student and staff achievements is timely and meaningful to all involved?
  3. How did you ensure that recognition programs and celebrations honored local traditions and cultural values?

Part 2 – Skill Demonstration Product with Self-Analysis

Develop an artifact portfolio that captures the essential outcomes for the Valuing and Celebrating Traditions Micro-Credential and complete the evidence self-analysis.

For each EO detail you will be required to reference an uploaded artifact(s) and guide the assessor to the specific evidence (page number, video time stamp, etc.) within the uploaded artifact(s). An explanation of how the evidence demonstrates proficiency of the outcome detail is also required. The practitioner must clearly and compellingly demonstrate proficiency of every detail under each essential outcome.

Part 3 – Reflection and Application

Submit, in writing, a summary of your experience of Valuing and Celebrating Traditions (500-word minimum); highlight and provide specific examples of how you applied the four essential outcome components of Valuing and Celebrating Traditions. This could include topics covered, and how you valued all viewpoints and differences, as well as modeled tolerance as you created a plan with stakeholders. Include a reflection about the impact of this skill on your professional practice, and how you will continue to apply it in the future.
