Communication Structures

Overview – The Communication Structures Micro-Credential requires that the practitioner demonstrates proficiency of all the essential outcomes and the research-based subskills defined in the details. These include demonstrating modeling, and involving stakeholders in creating strategic, evidence-based outcomes, collecting stakeholder feedback, monitoring, and next steps which ensure engagement and communication with different stakeholder groups. Further, the practitioner will demonstrate skills in ensuring equitable, safe, proficient utilization of social media and other communication structures to communicate directly and provide a collective voice for all stakeholders. The practitioner will demonstrate the ability to collaboratively develops specific processes and protocols to ensure continuous improvement of communications structures that support all stakeholders’ voices.

Essential OutcomesCommunication Structures includes the following five identified essential outcomes:

  1. Deploy a variety of communication mechanisms to strategically engage different stakeholder groups.
  2. Ensure educational leader ensures safety and proficiency in the utilization of social media by stakeholders.
  3. Provide communication structures and protocols for teachers and students to safely and directly communicate with the community.
  4. Provide evidence that communications represent a collective, equitable voice of all stakeholders.
  5. Provide a plan with strategies, implementation timelines, evaluation, and monitoring process to establish best-practices communication structures and deliver clear, effective communications to all stakeholders.

Requirements

Part 1. Overview Questions

Develop a responsive narrative that answers the following questions (1,000-word minimum):

  1. How have you deployed differing communication mechanisms to strategically engage different stakeholder groups?
  2. What steps have you taken to ensure the safety and proficiency in the utilization of social media by stakeholders?
  3. What specific communication structures and protocols have you implemented for teachers and students to safely and directly communicate with the community?
  4. What evidence can you provide that communications represent a collective, equitable voice of all stakeholders?
  5. In what ways does the current communication structure represent a collective, equitable voice of all stakeholders? Provide a plan with strategies, implementation timelines, evaluation, and monitoring process to establish best-practices communications structures and deliver clear, effective communications to all stakeholders.

Part 2. Skill Demonstration Product with Self-Analysis

Develop an artifact portfolio that captures the essential outcomes for the Communication Structures Micro-Credential and complete the evidence self-analysis.

For each EO detail you will be required to reference an uploaded artifact(s) and guide the assessor to the specific evidence (page number, video time stamp, etc.) within the uploaded artifact(s). An explanation of how the evidence demonstrates proficiency of the outcome detail is also required. The practitioner must clearly and compellingly demonstrate proficiency of every detail under each essential outcome.

Part 3. Reflection & Application

Submit, in writing, a summary of your experience of Communication Structures (500-word minimum); highlight and provide specific examples of how you applied the five components and details of Communications Structures. This could include topics covered and how you supported and communicated with all stakeholder supported by a variety of communications structures and worked directly to develop a plan to improve your ability to communication with stakeholder and also allow stakeholders to have a collective voice in supporting continuous improvement. Include a reflection about the impact of this skill on your professional practice and how you will continue to apply it in the future.
